On June 15, 2001, the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyz, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly announced to establish a permanent international intergovernmental organization in Shanghai, China - the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which is the first international organization named with the Chinese city, Shanghai. Over the past 15 years, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has developed rapidly. Except for five founding members, the Observers countries including Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia, India and Pakistan, additionally Dialogue partners including Ethiopia, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey, Sri Lanka.

In order to strengthen the communication and cooperation between lawyers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Based on the establishment of the BRIC Lawyers Alliance and G20 Lawyers Alliance, Jin Mao Partners continue to establish the Lawyers Alliance of Shanghai Cooperation Organization on December 28, 2016. At the same day, on December 20, 2016 the Bund Financial Innovation Experimental Zone Legal Research Center, Hong Kong and Macao Investment and Financial Legal Research Center, the Cross-strait Investment and Financial Law Research Center and "One Belt One Road" Legal Research and Service Center (hereinafter above mentioned research centers referred as “the Center”) jointly organized the 2017 New Year Seminar. During the Seminar, 2016 Chinese Government Friendship Award winner, Shanghai Magnolia Award winner, Honorary Citizens of Shanghai, President of Roche Diagnostics, Huang Boxing and Senior Executive of the United States Starr Insurance group, Dorothy Dong etc., 12 Chinese and foreign famous entrepreneurs, Financiers and Jurists were hired as the Researcher of the Center and the Famous Jurist Li Changdao and other nine experts awarded the Certificates to the Researchers.

Since the Bund Financial and Legal Forum held on November 11, 2013, and the opening ceremony of the Forum was host by then Party Secretary of Shanghai Huangpu District. Since the establishment of "One Belt One Road" Legal Research and Service Center (One Belt One Road Center) on February 18, 2016. One Belt One Road Center has set up 15 stations in the United States, Japan, Britain, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, India and Hong Kong, Macao, Taipei and Kaohsiung etc., what is more, Jin Mao Partners successful handling of a number of "One Belt One Road" cases, and successful holding the “Seminar for Chinese enterprises invest and financing in Japan” and the “Seminar for Chinese enterprises invest and financing in the United State”.
