President of the IBA Visited Jin Mao Partners
At 9 on March 4, 2019, Horacio Bernardes Neto, the President of the International Bar Association (“IBA”) and Brazilian lawyer, and his team visited the Jin Mao Partners, the Shanghai headquarter.
Jack Li (Li Zhiqiang), the founding partner of Jin Mao Partners, received the guests of the IBA in the K11 Building, Shanghai's top ten landmark building. It is pleasant and happy as old friends meet again. Horacio Bernardes Neto has served as the President of the IBA since January 1, 2019, and will serve until December 31, 2020. The IBA, an internationally renowned lawyers association as the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, has a wide range of influence in the international legal community. Horacio Bernardes Neto praised the Chinese lawyers for their active efforts in the fields of governance of the IBA, the exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign lawyers, and expects more Chinese lawyers to play their due role as lawyers in the international legal organization.
The IBA was founded in 1947 with headquarter in London. In 1995, Jack Li (Li Zhiqiang) was recommended by the All China Lawyers Association to join the IBA. At the annual meeting of the IBA held in Auckland, New Zealand in 2004, he was elected as a council member of the IBA together with Mr. Gao Zongze, the then President of the All China Lawyers Association.
